1. An Avenger cannot love. He can only act on the shadow of his former love. The ones he used to love are dead in body and spirit, and the only thing he can do is inflict the same condition on the perpetrators. An Avenger can only hate. As such, he derives his strength from the Darkness and uses it to exact his revenge.
2. An Avenger cannot feel pleasure. He knows only Pain, but it does not bother him as he has become accustomed to it as organisms do diseases. On the contrary, he uses it to his advantage, the means by which he exacts his revenge. As Darkness is his strength, Pain is his weapon.
3. An Avenger cannot die. Death cannot touch him until he has exacted his revenge. His body may give out in the process, but it will preserved in a twisted form by the Darkness, the corrupting power of which is kept at bay by the sheer force of his avenging will.
Nothing can stop an Avenger.
