Music, Art and Literature

All of those are great tools of expression, inspiration and hope. I think every man, woman and child needs to associate him or her self with either one or many of those things. For sanity, for expression of emotion, for a release and for an escape from the trials and tribulations of life. From many a heartache that will descend on you throughout your life and from the realm of reality that may sometimes seem too bleak or difficult to look at.

Music because everyone has that song, or that record that you can put on when you’re down, that can inspire you like no other. That instantaneously lifts your mood when you need it most. That song that’s racked up more plays than any other song you own, but never gets too boring to listen to. Or you can find an instrument that you can just sit and play, to the point where all the hurt in you just flows out through the beats of a drum, through the strings of a guitar or even the lyrics written from the heart.

Art because drawing and painting can put your emotions to canvas like no other means of expression. Art can inspire people beyond belief, you can sometimes see something in a painting that no one else sees. One can take so much away from a few humble strokes of a brush. Or photography to capture an image that can forever encapsulate whatever it is you’re feeling at that moment in time that only lasts for a brief moment.

And literature, because one can  find great solace in words. Words hold a certain beauty, words can mean so much, yet mean nothing at all. You can find great inspiration in the words of another. You can take hope from words that encapsulate all that you’re feeling inside, words that relate to you so much it can often seem that they were written just for you, they can mean as much or as little as you want them to. Words are my means of expression. Inspiration. And hope. So I shall write as long as I am able.
