That Heart

I no longer have the heart
the heart that I’ve owned
when you were still mine and
I, yours—that made me write
too many things so beautifully.
I no longer yearn for that heart—
the heart that bore the letters
of your name, stitched too
carefully—that made me long
for you every now and then.
I no longer keep the heart—
the heart that burdened itself
in your absence, and lightened
in your presence. Finally, I have let
go of beauty and longing
and the heart that belonged once
to you,
just you,
and only you.
