Trust

Trust. The word itself is intense. The word “trust” is more of a feeling than it is an action. “To trust” means to feel so secure with one person that the doubts which remain during or after any unseen action are little to none. “To trust” is to believe in each and every word which escapes the mouth of he who speaks to you or me. “To trust” is to be sure that what you see, feel, hear, taste, or smell is exactly what you initially suspected. Nothing more, nothing less. To trust. It is a feeling which is defined by the standards we set. The word trust can make or break a relationship. Once trust is lost, it can completely alter the sincerity behind words and phrases. It can make the truth a lie. It can blind the broken-hearted to a new beginning in a person. It can taunt you for the rest of your life. Where trust is lost, so is love, or at least a portion of it. Trust and love live in the heart and hold each other’s hands. When trust leaves so does love. Love is the more sensitive of the two, sometimes love leaves but trust remains. Amazing. Lost Trust can be seen escaping the teary eyes of a deceived person. Lost Trust can be heard vanishing within the screams of a supplicating woman or man, asking his or her loved one, “Why?”. Lost Trust can be felt, disoriented, in the opening and closing of a door which many have walked in through and left through, leaving trust there, idle, with no one to repair it’s broken wings or understand the reason behind it’s sudden abandonment. Lost Trust can be tasted in the kiss of a person whose eyes remain open as their unfaithful lover kisses him or her, for the love and passion that once was… no longer is. Lost Trust can be smelled in the stench of dirty laundry which wife no longer does for a husband who once deserved that and so much more. Trust Lost. Lost. Trust. Trust is now… lost. What can one do to recuperate it? How can a broken heart be mended? When and how soon will this healing take place? Why was the trust lost to begin with? Who is to blame? Where does this lost trust go? Trust, Lost. Lost Trust. Trust is now… lost.
